Aurora over Lake Tekapo village

With the coast being clouded out, I travelled inland to the MacKenzie country to capture last night’s Aurora.

Holiday project complete, the dome is now a traditional white.
Green was ok when I was mainly doing night imaging, it would quickly cool down. Now for solar imaging, green was getting way too hot during the day effecting the image quality.

Meteor /Space junk over New Zealand

A bright meteor was seen over a large part of the South Island of New Zealand tonight, 19/07/16 at 1826 NZST
Pity the clouds had to photobomb it

Update: This was probably the re-entry of a Soyuz upper stage
